Who we are
Ornate Occasion is a wedding planning and design studio based in Udaipur, Rajasthan. This policy explains what we do with the personal details you share with us through this website, by email, by phone or on WhatsApp. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect your name, email address and, if you choose to share them, your phone or WhatsApp number, your partner's name, your wedding dates, location, guest numbers, the functions you are planning, your budget range and anything you write in your message.
If we go on to plan your wedding, we will also hold the details needed to do that well, such as guest lists, travel and room details and dietary needs. We only ask for what the wedding needs.
Why we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to prepare a proposal and, if you book with us, to plan and run your wedding. We do not sell your details, and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
Your consent
By sending an enquiry you agree to us using your details for these purposes. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us, and we will stop using your details, except where we must keep records by law.
Who we share it with
Only with the people who help make your wedding happen, such as venues, hotels, caterers and transport partners, and only once you have booked with us and agreed to it. Our website is hosted by Vercel, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to keep the site running and secure. Enquiry forms are delivered to our inbox by Formspree. Both are based in the United States, so your details may be processed outside India, under their own security and privacy commitments.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become weddings are deleted within 24 months. For weddings we plan, we keep records for as long as accounting and tax law requires, and delete guest details once the wedding is complete and settled.
Your rights
You can ask us for a summary of the personal details we hold about you, ask us to correct or complete them, or ask us to delete them. You can also nominate someone to act for you, and raise a complaint with us. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this page and ask for your consent where required.
Children
Our services are for adults planning a wedding. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 18, other than names and needs of younger guests that a family shares with us for the wedding itself.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal details, we will update this page and the date at the top.
Contact and grievances
For any question, request or complaint about your personal details, write to our grievance officer at the email address below. We aim to respond within seven days.
